My Journey as a Foundation in Science Student

My experience pursuing a foundation in science at MAHSA University is a memory I will cherish and hold very close to my heart. Studying in MAHSA’s Foundation program was a well-rounded experience as I was able to have a healthy study-life balance. Besides classroom learning, students were actively involved in practical lessons, programs run by the Center for Pre-University Studies, and weekly activities led by foundation students.

MAHSA’s Foundation Program stands out due to its quality of teaching and highly experienced lecturers. Lecturers are able to impart knowledge effectively and prioritize students’ needs at all times. The lecturers teach passionately and are prepared to hold consultation classes to ensure students do not feel left behind in their studies. Lecturers are also approachable and friendly, making students feel welcome and at ease to share their concerns. The campus facilities at MAHSA, such as the well-equipped library, laboratories, and study areas also create a conducive environment for students to concentrate on their studies.

Our weekly practical sessions in MAHSA rank among the most interesting experiences. Under the guidance of the lecturers, students were divided into groups and instructed in a variety of fascinating experiments. For instance, students conducted experiments such as extracting DNA from strawberries and identifying blood groups. Practical classes are highly captivating as they allow for hands-on learning and provide solid understanding of the subject. Students also actively participate in class activities such as group presentations during tutorial classes to enhance understanding of subjects. Additionally, students socialize, foster teamwork and cooperation, and lend a helping hand to one another whenever required.

The Centre of Pre-University Studies also conducted many activities for the students, including Stay Fit Explorace and Talent Hunt Competition. Such activities were conducted with the aim of creating a close knit between students and lecturers’ whist cultivating togetherness. The Explorace consisted of physically daunting tasks that challenged the participants, requiring them to push their limits and work together as a team. The talent hunt competition was conducted to unearth hidden talents of the foundation students’ and to encourage them to showcase their talents boldly and confidently. Weekly sports activities such as dodgeball, frisbee and handball are also initiated by students within Foundation to get to know one another better.

Throughout the past year in MAHSA, I have met people from all walks of life, some that provided guidance, some whom I look up to and some that have taught me life lessons. I am appreciative of the new acquaintances, wisdom, and experiences I have encountered throughout my time in MAHSA.
