The increasing cases of multidrug resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) or even extensively resistant drug-resistant TB (XDR-TB) worldwide shows a worrisome trend.1 Second-line drugs typically used for such cases were known to be less effective, had longer treatment periods and more significant side effects than the first-line drugs.2 Discovery of new antituberculosis drugs have also been dismal, as not many drugs are approved as antituberculosis agents in the past 50 years, thus, necessitating a new direction to tackle this problem.3 Instead of finding new drugs, using targeted drug delivery approach may be a viable approach to improve existing drug therapy. Targeted drug delivery focused on increasing the amount of drug uptake at the target sites while decreasing the drug concentration at the non-target sites.4 Consequently, the drug is able to display its maximum effectiveness and exhibit fewer side effects due to lesser drug loss to non-target sites.5,6 Targeted drug delivery is categori

MAHSA Carnival: An Extravagant Fun and Learning

MAHSA Carnival was held on the 24th and 25th of June 2023 and was a grand event that brought together students, prospective students, faculty, staff, and the local community for a day of excitement, entertainment, and engagement. The carnival aimed to create a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere, promoting social interaction and fostering a sense of unity among participants. The carnival was held at Menara Teo Chew and MAHSA’s affiliates were also involved during the carnival. The lively atmosphere immediately set the tone for a day filled with enthusiasm and celebration. Several interactive exhibitions were organized, allowing guests to gain knowledge in various fields focusing on the medical lane. These included free health screening, medical talks, games, career guidance sessions, entrepreneurial showcases, and quizzes. MAHSA Talent Hunt 2023

On June 22nd, 2023, the Faculty of Business, Hospitality, Accounting, and Finance organized a Talent Hunt event to foster engagement among diploma and degree students and their lecturers. The purpose of this event was to provide students with an experiential activity outside the classroom where they could interact with their lecturers and fellow students within the same faculty. A talent hunt, talent competition, or talent contest is a show in which students perform acts on stage, aiming to win a prize for the best performance. This event consisted of a series of individual performances, such as singing, by students who had the opportunity to be recognized for their talent. A total of 80 students and 20 lecturers participated in the event. During the event, diploma and degree students had the chance to come together, despite their different races, religions, and countries of origin, and enjoy various activities such as solo and duet performances with the lecturers. Student Representative Council Swearing-in Ceremony

The Student Representative Council (SRC) Swearing-In Ceremony took place on 22nd June 2023 at Unity Lobby. The event marked the official induction and inauguration of the newly elected student representatives who would serve as the voice and advocates for the student body. The ceremony aimed to reinforce the principles of democracy, leadership, and responsibility within the student community. The ceremony commenced with an opening address by the Head of Student Central, Ms Hema who emphasized the significance of student leadership and the role of the SRC in fostering positive change within the campus community. FOHS & CEL Group Photo Hari Raya 2023 Honoring the celebration of Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2023 as well as promoting togetherness among faculty members, Faculty of Health Sciences (FOHS) and Center of Education and Language (CEL) jointly held a Hari Raya Get Together event on 18th May 2023 (Thursday) with the theme; Traditional & Classic. The celebration which was initiated by our Dean, Assoc. Prof Dr. Veronica Chua was enthusiastically supported by all the staff who put their best effort in making the event successful and bringing everyone together within one faculty. Each department in FOHS prepared different kinds of food; Medical Imaging (MI) and Environmental Health (EH) preparde roti jala, dessert and cocktail, CEL preparing grilled chicken and black pepper gravy and while Physiotherapy in charge of the main dish; Byriani rice. The workshop, conducted by trainers from St. John Ambulance Malaysia for 15 staff of MAHSA University, was meant to equip participants with essential first aid skills for emergencies and injuries at the workplace thereby ensuring a safer work environment with better work security for MAHSA University employees.   The workshop covered a comprehensive range of topics essential for handling emergencies in the workplace. The Mobile Legend Coaching Workshop was conducted on 11 June 2023 at i-More and organized by Student Central collaborating with Nxclusive Esport Club by Team Selangor led by the President of the club, Mr. Yande. The objective of this workshop was to provide participants with the essential knowledge and skills required to excel as e-sport coaches. The workshop aimed to cover various aspects of coaching in the e-sport industry, including game analysis, team management, communication strategies, and player development. The sessions of the workshop included lectures, practical exercises, and interactive discussions to facilitate effective learning and engagement among participants. Throughout the workshop, Ms Siti Nurul Nadiya facilitated the students and exposed them to various techniques, tips, and best practices for crafting engaging magazine articles. A Visit to the Vitagen Factory

On June 1st, 2023, the Faculty of Business, Hospitality, Accounting, and Finance organized a field trip to the Vitagen drinks factory, named Malaysia Milk Sdn Bhd, located in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. Thirty-eight students from the Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Hospital Management, Diploma in Business Administration, and Diploma in Marketing joined the trip along with two lecturers. Upon arrival at the site, we were welcomed by Puan Zaihani, the Customer Relations Manager, who briefed us about the history of their products, Vitagen and Marigold. She also played a video showcasing the research and development process that has enabled their products to sustain till today. Students were given the opportunity to ask her questions about the company, and many were amazed by the fascinating facts about Vitagen. After approximately an hour, we began our visit inside the factory, where we observed the bottling, labeling, and packaging processes firsthand. This was an eye-openi
