Inclusive Curriculum Design and Assessments By Academic Affiars & Equal Committee

  The Academic Affairs and EQUAL (AAE) team held their 5th  Academic Transformation Series talk on 19th May 2022.  The talk on Inclusive Curriculum Design and Assessments was delivered by our guest speaker Assoc. Prof. Ir, Dr. Mohd Khairil Rahmat, Acting Deputy President (Academic & Technology) UniKL. Ir. Dr. Khairil is also the Head of the Accreditation Panel (Electrical & Electronics) for the Engineering Accreditation Council Malaysia (EAC) and Board of Engineers Malaysia. This event was aimed at providing MAHSA academicians with a better understanding of what things are looked at by accreditation panelists in evaluating curriculum and assessment design for inclusivity. It is hoped that this sharing session will help us enhance inclusivity in our future curriculum and assessment design and review exercises.

Researcher Spotlight: Mr. Kasipandian Kasirajan

  Mr Kasipandian Kasirajan, BE Electrical and Electronics Engineering, ME Power Electronics and Drives, is pursuing his PhD and serves as Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment and (Research) MAHSA University, Malaysia. Mr Kasipandian is an academician with over twenty research publications. He has received two international patents, one of which is “A Robotic system to check battery quality in manufacturing industries using Artificial Intelligence”, Australian Patent number 2021101304, and the other, “Cloud key SAAS autonomous AIOT control system and method thereof”, Australian patent number 2021106451. His main research interests are solar-power plants, wind-power plants and electric vehicles.   Selecting a career that may take you through a lifetime can be daunting to a teenager, but at MAHSA University, we take an approach that is more hands on for our teens to make their decision. On the 19th of May 2022, the Centre for Pre-University Studies (CPUS) collaborated with the Faculty of Medicine, Bioscience and Nursing for an engagement session aimed to inspire our Foundation in Science students towards pursuing their degree in the field of Medicine, Bioscience or Nursing, which was aimed at providing them with the in-depth and up-to-date information related to these fields of sciences.  The session began with welcoming speeches by Prof.Dr. Rusli Bin Nordin, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vetriselvan Subramaniyan, and Assoc.Prof.Dr. Mohd Rahal bin Yusoff. Further Education Forum by FSI: Health Sciences at MAHSA University

On 28 th May 2022 Further Study Intelligence (FSI) organized a Further Education forum for students of their partner schools.  Leading private universities and practitioners were invited to participate in a panel discussion on Medical and Health Sciences, Actuarial Science and Agriculture as career options for school leavers. Now You Can Have Your Coffee and Eat Your Cup Too

MAHSA Green Warriors are pleased to introduce their very own home-made edible cups as a tasty, and environmentally friendly solution to eradicate the rise in plastic and paper waste. This eco-friendly approach will soon make way to the dining tables at M-Brasserie which is MAHSA University's Restaurant managed by the Centre of Hospitality Management.  In last Sunday's MAHSA Education Fair, an official event was held between MAHSA Green Warriors and Centre of Hospitality Management's Head, Mr Yeoh. An exchange of cups from the Warriors and Coffee from M-Brasserie was enjoyed by all those present. Students who were on their One Day in MAHSA tour had the chance to grab a cup of coffee for themselves with these edible cups too. These edible cups are made out of wheat and coco-powder with a calorie count of approximately 160 and is able to hold a hot beverage for approximately 35mins. MAHSA University Collaborates with MFPC to Launch Financial Planning Programmes

  MAHSA University has announced its collaboration with Malaysian Financial Planning Council (MFPC) to offer programmes for the purpose of the professional qualification for the Registered Financial Planner (RFP) and the Shariah Registered Financial Planner (Shariah RFP) certifications. The programmes are designed to produce competent financial planners who are professionally qualified. An agreement was signed to this effect by Prof. Dato' Dr. Ikram Shah bin Ismail, the Vice-Chancellor, MAHSA University and Mr Vincent Kwo Shih Kang, President, MFPC. Medical Camp 1.0 – First Post-pandemic Session

  For 2022, MedSoc MAHSA have managed to resume the running of their medical camp, which was their first  session post-COVID-19 pandemic. The session was held on the 14 th of May 2022 from 9 am to 2 pm, at Surau Al-Ikhlas in Bandar Saujana Putra, Jenjarom, and was manned by 15 students who were in various stages of their medical training. They were supported by a member of the MAHSA Academic staff, Prof. Dr. Jamaluddin Hj Mohamad. The medical camp was set up as a means of clinical exposure for our medical students, which included having contact with ‘real’ patients to talk to and examine. During the pandemic, many of these type of activities were put on hold for obvious reasons, and this had left students at a further disadvantage when it came to having sufficient clinical exposure. Single Use Plastic-Free MAHSA

  ‘Single-Use Plastic-Free Campus’ is a project by MAHSA University that aims to measurably reduce plastic waste and pollution on its campuses and thus eliminate plastic pollution and its toxic impacts on people and the environment.   The objectives of this project is to  develop single-use plastic-free campuses,  to help the students to grow as responsible citizens who can manage and protect their own environment, t o improve the practices on campus to build a safe environment,  to create awareness among students about the hazards of plastic, and  to educate the students about the good ways of managing the disposal of plastic. “It’s pretty amazing that our society has reached a point where the effort necessary to extract oil from the ground, ship it to a refinery, turn it into plastic, shape it appropriately, truck it to a store, buy it and bring it home, is considered to be less effort than what it takes to just wash the spoon when you’re done with it”.   The environment is getting p
