Educational Visit to Economics Planning Unit





Students from MAHSA University Bachelor in Business Administration program participated in a Program for an Educational Trip to the Economics Planning Unit, Prime Minister’s Office, Putrajaya. This program was in line with a core subject of the Bachelor of Business Administration program. Madam Mazlina Muhamad chaperoned the group. The objective of this program was to expose students to the current issue regarding the economy in Malaysia. 

On the other hand, this program also provided an opportunity for the students to learn from industry experts. Our entourage arrived at 8.00 am and proceeded to the registration counter as we had ample time before the start of the official program. The visit included a talk delivered by Encik Muhammad Jawad Tajuddin, Assistant Director of the Balance of Payments, Macro Economics Division, Economic Planning Unit, Prime Minister's Department (EPU, JPM). The Lecture was entitled as “Sustainability of Economics: Impact Before and After Pandemic in Malaysia”. Mr. Abu Zeid Mohd Arif, Deputy Director 2 (Economic Model & Public Sector Accounts), Macro Economics Division, Economic Planning Unit, Prime Minister’s Department (EPU, JPM), chaired the event for this talk. Also participating were, Mrs. Fhariha Ayanti Mohammad Zain, Chief Assistant Director of Public Sector Accounts, Macro Economics Division, Economic Planning Unit, Prime Minister's Department (EPU, JPM).

During the session, students were given the opportunity to ask questions, get actual data and information related to economics, and understand how economics is an essential factor affecting business. More than ten students showed a keen interest and asked question and were happy with the feedback and answer. The program ended at 12 noon with a wonderful session of the exchange oof souvenirs between MAHSA and EPU officers. Students enjoyed this educational trip and at the end of it all, lunch was hosted bythe Economic Planning Unit. Students indicated their happiness and wish to have more educational visits in the future.

The Department of Orang Asli Development (JAKOA) recently extended their congratulations to Dr Tan Bee Hui, who became the first indigenous person to earn the title of Dentist.
