Time Project 2023

“This is our Time” originated from the UNESCO Associated Schools Project. Currently, this project is organized by Time Project Headquarters in Canada in cooperation with Time Ambassadors, who are expert teachers who have been involved with the Time Project in organizing for years. Our mission is to empower youth to understand and act on the world’s greatest challenges as they are the future of our world. Centre for pre-University Studies had multiple Video conferences with schools from around the world on 08/12/23. The countries we had conferences with include Croatia, Taiwan, Poland, Canada, and India. The interaction and cultural exchange were intriguing and awakening so our students had a wonderful time. This project is the epitome of fun learning. This platform truly helped students express their voices. The topics discussed were Global Refugee Crisis, Rising Temperature of the planet and Artificial Intelligence Pros and Cons. Video conferencing 

Enchanted Echoes: Choral Speaking & Theatre by School of Education

On November 24th, 2023, the School of Education (SOE) from the Faculty of Health Sciences, Nursing and Education (FOHSNE) hosted its inaugural " ENCHANTED ECHOES: CHORAL SPEAKING & THEATRE " event, featuring the talents of 50 Diploma in Teaching English as a Second Language (DTESL) students and 46 Diploma in Early Childhood Education (DECE) students. This captivating showcase of choral speaking, theatre, and dance performances was meticulously crafted under the guidance of DTESL and DECE lecturers. The event served as a culmination of months of dedicated rehearsals, planning, and collaboration, fulfilling the assessments for ELE 4173 (Public Speaking) and ECEC4295 (Music, Movement and Drama in ECE) modules. Held in the auditorium, the event was inaugurated by our Faculty Dean Assoc. Prof Dr. Veronica Chua who commended the school for organizing this wonderful event. Also in attendance were the school’s industry advisors as well as faculty students and staff . "

MedPath: Navigating your Medical Journey

The MedPath event took place at MAHSA University, providing an immersive experience for students from Kwang Hua Private High School in Klang. The event was meticulously organized, offering a diverse range of activities tailored to enlighten and guide students on their potential paths towards a career in medicine. The event commenced with an engaging presentation, focusing on the MBBS pathway at MAHSA, outlining the academic journey necessary for aspiring medical professionals. A detailed discussion provided insights into scholarships and financing options specifically designed for the MBBS program, aiming to inform students about the available financial support avenues for their medical education. Following that, a captivating live demonstration showcased EEG tracing, offering practical insights into neurology and the application of medical technology in diagnosing neurological conditions. Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) workshop for MAHSA Physiotherapy Students

Physiotherapy students from the Faculty of Health Sciences, Nursing and Education (FOHSNE), MAHSA University were privileged to attend a hands-on workshop by Mr. Liam Harkness a leading Sport therapist from UK with more than 25 years’ experience treating clients with all kinds of long-term health issues and chronic pain. Liam studied and worked with Aaron Mattes, the founder of Active Isolated Stretching (AIS). Under Aaron's tutelage, Liam developed his approach to sports performance and rehabilitation by learning to optimize force distribution during movement. Liam conducted this 3-hour for MAHSA students with the help of his assistant Ms. Jasmine Pang who coincidentally is a Physiotherapy alumna   of MAHSA University. Evolution of Mental Health Nursing and Challenges Ahead

The Nursing students of MAHSA University had the special opportunity to attend an international guest lecture by Mr. Paul Illingworth, a distinguished Mental Health Nursing educator from United Kingdom on 18th October 2023. Mr. Illingworth was previously the Head of the School of Nursing & Midwifery, Birmingham City University and co-authored a number of Mental Health Nursing books. He is currently the Head, Leicester School of Allied Health Sciences, De Montfort University, United Kingdom. The topic of Mr. Illingworth’s guest lecture was “Evolution of Mental Health Nursing and Challenges Ahead”, which provided valuable insights on the changing trends, new approaches and potential pitfalls with regards to mental health nursing. Shattering Stereotypes: First Malaysian Indigenous Dentist

The Department of Orang Asli Development (JAKOA) recently extended their congratulations to Dr Tan Bee Hui, who became the first indigenous person to earn the title of Dentist. JAKOA's message was shared on their TikTok page (@jakoamalaysia) based on a post made by the Malaysia Orang Asli Students' Association (PMOA) on their Facebook page. PMOA shared this announcement on their social media on September 30th. Sunchon National University, Jeollanam-do Signs MOU with MAHSA University

A delegation from the Republic of Korea visited MAHSA on the 18th of September for an MOU signing ceremony between Sunchon National University, Jeollanam-do, and MAHSA University. The delegation headed by Mr. Han Sook-kyung and Ms. Kim Jeong-hee, who was representing Sunchon National University President Lee Byeong-won, was received by the Chairman of MAHSA YB Prof. Tan Sri Datuk Dr. Mohamed Haniffa and Vice Chancellor Prof. Dato’ Dr. Ikram Shah. The MOU signing was followed by a discussion on areas of potential collaboration between universities. We look forward to a long and fruitful partnership with Sunchon National University.

Merdeka Bersama MAHSA Telematch

The one thing sports does best is to unite everyone regardless of how competitive one may be and it was without a doubt the best thing we saw at the Merdeka Bersama MAHSA Telematch last Thursday. With 8 highly competitive teams of 10 members each from Dentistry, Pharmacy, Business, Hospitality, Medicine, Health Sciences, Education and languages, and Finance, the energy level was at its peak that evening as they battled amongst each other in 5 different sports categories which led them to the ultimate Tug of War! Congratulations to the winning teams and those who participated in and supported the event. Thank you to each one of you for making this event a success and kudos to our Student Central team and our Student Representative Council for making this possible.
