Inspiring Synergy Beyond Borders with Bahria University

5 July 2023, Bandar Saujana Putra – MAHSA University hosted the Defence Advisor of the High Commission of Pakistan, Kuala Lumpur, Commodore Nasir Mahmood in an official visit today, in-line with his efforts to connect two foreign universities for mutual academic, research and internationalisation.

The discussion which was held between the Academic Management of MAHSA University, and the Director of International Office at Bahria University, Dr Awais Mehmood, brought to light the strength of both universities and its opportunities for future plans that would benefit students of both Pakistan and Malaysia, and its international population on campus, as well as the academic teams of both universities. Bahria and MAHSA, though one a Naval University founded by the Naval officers of Pakistan, and MAHSA, a medical university, founded by a Medical Specialist, are institutions that were built on professions of passion and has grown to being dynamic in its various branches of academics and research serving students of all backgrounds for years.

With student’s growth and exposure for being global graduates, this collaboration will benefit both parties in providing a holistic tertiary experience that are meant to build future leaders, researchers, and drivers of the economy. Cultural exchange and academic expansion play a crucial role in shaping the minds of both young and old in a world that is interconnected through technology. Both parties are mutually positive that this collaboration will allow for the exchange of ideas, expertise, and knowledge across different academic disciplines and ultimately lead to new insights, innovative approaches, interdisciplinary research synergy, networking, and more.

Representing MAHSA University was Prof. Dato Dr. Ikram Shah, the Vice-Chancellor, Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Alla Kesava Rao, Chief Operating Officer, Prof Dr. Rusli, Dean of Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Antony Samrot, Director of Research, Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Iman Farschi, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment, and IT, and Ms Jennifer Fernandez, MARCOM Manager. Accompanying Commodore Nasir were Mr. Imran Tahir Khan, President of IKC, Mr Farooq, and Mr Wajid.



Heading towards the coming weeks will be the plans for an official signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between MAHSA and Bahria.

Shattering Stereotypes: First Malaysian Indigenous Dentist

The Department of Orang Asli Development (JAKOA) recently extended their congratulations to Dr Tan Bee Hui, who became the first indigenous person to earn the title of Dentist.
