O Week -July 2023 Intake

The orientation event for the July intake foundation students was held from the 4th until the 7th of July 2023. The purpose of this event was to welcome and introduce the new students to the university, provide them with essential information, and help them settle into their new academic environment. The orientation aimed to create a positive and engaging experience, fostering a sense of belonging and ensuring a smooth transition for the students as they embark on their educational journey.

The event commenced with a warm and encouraging welcome address from the university’s administration. The university officials extended our heartfelt congratulations to the new batch of foundation students for securing a place in the institution. We emphasized the importance of this stage in their academic careers and reassured them that this university is committed to providing them with all the necessary support and resources for their personal and academic growth.

The orientation event included a comprehensive introduction to the university’s facilities, campus layout, and essential administrative procedures. Campus tours were conducted to familiarize the students with the key locations, such as academic buildings, library, sports complex, student service centre, and dining areas. This tour helped them gain a better understanding of the university’s infrastructure and where to find various services.

During the Faculty Meet and Greet slot, the Centre of Pre-University Studies addressed the students. They introduced the foundation program’s curriculum, discussed the different subjects they would be studying, and explained the grading system. The professors emphasized the importance of time management, regular attendance, and seeking help when needed. They encouraged the students to actively participate in class discussions and take advantage of office hours for any academic queries.

A significant part of the orientation event was dedicated to showcasing the vibrant student life and extracurricular opportunities available on campus presented by MAHSA’s clubs and societies members. This fostered a sense of community and encouraged students to participate in campus life actively.

Recognizing the importance of social connections during the initial days of university life, ice-breaking activities and team-building exercises were organized during the orientation event. These activities helped the students get to know their peers, form friendships, and build a support network. The university also arranged a welcome lunch, providing an opportunity for students to interact with faculty members, seniors, and other staff members.

In conclusion, the orientation event for the July intake foundation students was a resounding success. It laid the foundation for the student’s academic journey, instilling a sense of excitement, belonging, and preparedness. By introducing them to the university’s resources, faculty members, and support services, the event ensured that the students felt confident and ready to embrace the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. The university’s commitment to fostering a nurturing environment and facing holistic growth was evident throughout the orientation, promising a rewarding and enriching experience for the new students.
