EDUCATIONAL TRIP SAUDAGAR NENAS

On 22nd June 2023, students from Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) went for an industrial visit to Saudagar Nenas, located in Sungai Merab, Kajang. All 32 students and two lecturers who were involve in this visit arrived there approximately around 9:30 a.m. The tour guide introduced various strategies for how the company creates different types of pineapple-based products. Students were introduced to a variety of pineapples and a specific breed called Mb2. It is a hybrid breed of pineapple that mixes five other species of pineapple.

During the trip, Saudagar Nenas explained that their marketing process is more focused on Agri-tourism, where they provide swings as a nature lounge so that customers can enjoy the view of the plantation while resting. Moreover, they also exhibit many innovative products available at their café to attract more customers to purchase their products. Some of the product includes pineapple puff, pineapple juice, pineapple chilli sauce and pineapple coffee. In addition to their marketing strategies, it includes displaying fruits and products at the reachable level and at the customer’s eye level so that customers can reach it to inspect the premium quality pineapples; the other pineapples that are of lower quality are placed at the lower level of the shelves. The visit has thought the student a lot about innovative and creative strategies of marketing.
