"Research is the Creation of New Knowledge." - Neil Armstrong
The SPSS workshop was designed to empower participants with the skills and knowledge to harness the power of IBM SPSS as a robust data analysis tool. Whether they were students, researchers, or professionals, the workshop covered essential exploratory statistical analyses to help unlock insights from their data effectively.
In that research landscape, the ability to conduct quantitative data analysis was a valuable skill. Recognizing this need, the Faculty of Business, Hospitality, Accounting, and Finance (FOBHAF) took the initiative to organize the SPSS Workshop.
It was a pleasure to announce that 15 enthusiastic participants took part in the workshop. To ensure a seamless experience, participants were encouraged to bring their laptops with SPSS software installed.
Key Workshop Highlights:
Hands-On Learning: The workshop was all about practical experience. Valuable tips and tricks were shared to make the journey through SPSS as smooth as possible.
Comprehensive Content: Participants dove into various applications of SPSS in research. Common statistical analyses and their relevance to answering research questions across survey, experimental, and other research designs were explored.
Data Exploration: Participants learned how to effectively use SPSS to explore their data, test for normality, and assess equality of variance. They gained confidence in executing basic commands for descriptive analyses.
Inferential Data Analysis: The intricacies of inferential data analyses, including parametric tests like Pearson Product Moment correlation and t-tests, as well as non-parametric tests like Chi-square and Mann-Whitney U-test, were understood.
Interpretation and Reporting: Guidance was provided in interpreting SPSS output for inferential data analyses, helping in formatting and presenting results in a publication-ready format for journals and official reports.
Participants had the opportunity to join this exciting learning opportunity and equipped themselves with essential skills that elevated their research capabilities.
