EDUCATIONAL TRIP TO BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA MUSEUM


On the 22nd June 2023, the Faculty of Business, Hospitality, Accounting, and Finance organized an Educational Trip to the Bank Negara Malaysia Museum. The objective of the trip is to enhance the understanding of monetary policy, the roles, and functions of Bank Negara Malaysia. In addition, students were able to learn about FinTech, economic conditions, and the Islamic finance industry. This program also exposes students to interactive learning and provides some positive experiences.

A total of 30 students and three lecturers were involved in the event.

Upon entering the museum, students were immediately immersed in the captivating history of the central bank of Malaysia. The museum traces Bank Negara Malaysia's inception, dating back to 1959, and highlights its crucial role in shaping Malaysia's economic development. Through informative displays, students can discover the milestones, policies, and reforms that have contributed to the nation's financial stability and growth over the years.

The museum also offers a variety of exhibits that shed light on broader aspects of economics. Students can explore the factors influencing inflation, the importance of price stability, and the role of interest rates in economic growth. Engaging displays provide insights into Malaysia's foreign exchange reserves and the country's involvement in international financial markets. These exhibits foster a deeper understanding of economic principles and their practical implications. A visit to the Bank Negara Malaysia Museum is an educational journey that brings the world of finance and economics to life. From understanding the historical context of Malaysia's central bank to exploring the complexities of the monetary system and economic principles, students gain valuable insights into the foundations of a stable and prosperous economy. Through its interactive exhibits, immersive technology, and educational programs, the museum cultivates critical thinking and a deeper appreciation for the role of finance in our daily lives. A trip to this museum is a must for any student seeking a comprehensive understanding of economics and finance.

The Department of Orang Asli Development (JAKOA) recently extended their congratulations to Dr Tan Bee Hui, who became the first indigenous person to earn the title of Dentist.
