MedPath: Navigating your Medical Journey















The MedPath event took place at MAHSA University, providing an immersive experience for students from Kwang Hua Private High School in Klang. The event was meticulously organized, offering a diverse range of activities tailored to enlighten and guide students on their potential paths towards a career in medicine.

The event commenced with an engaging presentation, focusing on the MBBS pathway at MAHSA, outlining the academic journey necessary for aspiring medical professionals. A detailed discussion provided insights into scholarships and financing options specifically designed for the MBBS program, aiming to inform students about the available financial support avenues for their medical education. Following that, a captivating live demonstration showcased EEG tracing, offering practical insights into neurology and the application of medical technology in diagnosing neurological conditions. The students were then given a guided tour through the anatomy suite allowed students to witness cadaveric dissections, explore anatomy models, and engage in virtual anatomy learning sessions, enriching their understanding of human anatomy. After the lunch break, there was an interactive session led by experienced medical professionals which provided students hands-on experience in basic suturing techniques, fostering their interest in medical procedures.

Similar to the senior middle 2 session, an introductory address focused on the MBBS pathway in MAHSA, acquainting senior middle 1 students with the educational requirements for a medical degree, followed by a tailored discussion on scholarship opportunities and financing alternatives specific to the needs of senior middle 1 students was presented, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of financial support options. Students were then given a guided tour to the anatomy suite which allowed the senior middle 1 students to observe cadaveric dissections, explore anatomy models, and engage in virtual anatomy learning, enhancing their knowledge of human anatomy. An interactive session introduced basic CPR techniques, providing foundational life-saving skills to the students followed. After a short lunch break, there was a practical demonstrations and discussions focused on the physical examination of the cardiovascular system, giving insights into clinical examination practices.

The MedPath event, hosted at MAHSA University for students from Kwang Hua Private High School, provided a holistic view of the medical profession. Through engaging activities, informative discussions, and practical demonstrations, students were equipped with valuable knowledge and experiences, igniting their interest and understanding of the medical field.

The success of the event was attributed to the dedication and participation of the medical professionals, educators, and coordinators involved in organizing and executing the activities.

The Department of Orang Asli Development (JAKOA) recently extended their congratulations to Dr Tan Bee Hui, who became the first indigenous person to earn the title of Dentist. JAKOA's message was shared on their TikTok page (@jakoamalaysia) based on a post made by the Malaysia Orang Asli Students' Association (PMOA) on their Facebook page.
