The Doctor I am Today

At my Convocation Ceremony, 2019

I'm Shanan Teo and I am a MAHSA MBBS Graduate, Class of 2019.

I commenced my housemanship in September 2020 at Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (HUKM).
During my housemanship, I passed the Professional and Linguistic Assessment Board (PLAB) 1 and 2 Examinations, as well as other examinations - IELTS, Clinical Assessment and the Situational Judgement Test, all of which allowed me to obtain a job in the United Kingdom for Foundation Training.
I often look back at my time at MAHSA with great fondness.

In my opinion, the strengths of MAHSA are the detailed clinical postings and the comprehensive structure of the course. I was able to consolidate my knowledge that I had learned in my pre-clinical years and been able to see for the first time unique presentations on real patients and how to treat the person, not the disease alone. Lecturers at MAHSA are very dedicated and they provided me with a lot of support. They were patient and open to any questions that I had and were always generous in sharing their vast experience.

With the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Bioscience & Nursing, Prof. Dr. Rusli Nordin and Ms. Sharon

Going forward, I will bring the confidence that I have gained from MAHSA University into the world and I truly believe that the education I had received, helped build me to be the doctor I am today.

Thank you MAHSA University!
