Visit to Malaysian Nuclear Agency (Nuklear Malaysia)

Our final year Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons) and year 2 Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Pharmaceuticals Technology students visited the Medical Technology Division, Malaysian Nuclear Agency on 9th February 2023. The Malaysian Nuclear Agency is a government-owned nuclear technology research facility which conducts various activities, including research & development, production of radiopharmaceuticals and kits, and technical services.

This visit was intended to provide an opportunity for the students to be exposed to the practical aspects of radiopharmaceuticals research and manufacturing. During the visit, they learned about the production and quality control of radiopharmaceuticals at the facility. This was a great opportunity for them to witness and understand the operations of the equipment used in laboratories. The students were enthusiastic about learning the process and operations involved at the facility as they could relate what they observed with what they have learnt from the module lectures they attended at the University.

Overall, it was a fruitful visit for the students and the collaboration between the Faculty of Pharmacy, MAHSA University and the Malaysian Nuclear Agency was appreciated.
