The Faculty of Business, Hospitality, Accounting and Finance, MAHSA University, conducted an educational visit to the Museum and Art Gallery of Bank Negara on 16th February 2023. This activity was organised by Madam Mazlina Muhamad, in relation to the Macroeconomics course under the Diploma in Human Resource Management programme. The visiting team comprised of 43 students and 2 lecturers
During the visit to the Bank Negara Malaysia Gallery, the students acquired a deeper insight into the vital role and responsibilities of the Central Bank of Malaysia in maintaining the financial and economic health of the country via by participating in the ‘Investment Game’ – one of the many activities conducted by the Bank.
Apart from that, the students also visited the Governor’s Room which had information and data strikingly displayed. The visiting team also understood the multi-tasking and people-oriented functions of the Central Bank of Malaysia. At the Numismatics Gallery, they were exposed to the early history of money and going back to a time when the notes and coins were in different shapes and sizes, and were accepted as currency within the region. During the ‘Barter Trade’ game, participants explored the unique ‘River of Coins’ displaying a wide variety of world banknotes
The students were very excited when they went into the Children’s Gallery, where a number of activities, such as, the hands-on games and activities based on the concept of ‘Save, Spend and Share’ were held. The Children’s Gallery is a unique informal learning venue. In the RM1 Million Tunnel, they were exposed to a variety of Malaysian bank note denominations and series. RM1 Million Tunnel makes its own banknotes. There were information portals at the Bank where the students could gain valuable information in conformity with the lifelong learning process.
