Student Representative Council Swearing-in Ceremony

The Student Representative Council (SRC) Swearing-In Ceremony took place on 22nd June 2023 at Unity Lobby. The event marked the official induction and inauguration of the newly elected student representatives who would serve as the voice and advocates for the student body. The ceremony aimed to reinforce the principles of democracy, leadership, and responsibility within the student community.


The ceremony commenced with an opening address by the Head of Student Central, Ms Hema who emphasized the significance of student leadership and the role of the SRC in fostering positive change within the campus community. She acknowledged the outgoing SRC members for their dedication and contributions, setting the stage for the introduction of the incoming representatives.


Following the opening address, a notable guest, the Vice Chancellor of MAHSA University, Professor Dato’ Dr. Ikram Shah, delivered an inspiring speech to motivate the newly elected representatives. Dato’ Ikram emphasized on the importance of integrity, teamwork, and dedication in leadership roles. His words aimed to empower the SRC members and instill a sense of purpose and responsibility.


Not to forget, the previous tenure of SRC president, Caven Chong delivered his remarks by expressing confidence in the newly inducted SRC members and encouraging them to collaborate with the university management, faculty, and students to effect positive change. Caven also extended gratitude to all guests for their support and attendance at the ceremony.


Then, the president of the newly elected SRC was directed to sign the constitution witnessed by the Vice Chancellor and all of them approached the stage one by one to take the official oath. They solemnly swore to uphold the SRC's values, serve the student body diligently, and act as responsible ambassadors of the campus. The oath symbolized their commitment to the welfare and betterment of their peers.


The Student Representative Council Swearing-In Ceremony served as a significant milestone in the academic calendar, symbolizing the transition of power and responsibility to the newly elected representatives. The event underscored the importance of student leadership, while also fostering a sense of unity, purpose, and community within the campus. The newly sworn-in SRC members were inspired and ready to embark on their journey of representing their peers and making a difference in the campus community.

Shattering Stereotypes: First Malaysian Indigenous Dentist

The Department of Orang Asli Development (JAKOA) recently extended their congratulations to Dr Tan Bee Hui, who became the first indigenous person to earn the title of Dentist. JAKOA's message was shared on their TikTok page (@jakoamalaysia) based on a post made by the Malaysia Orang Asli Students' Association (PMOA) on their Facebook page.
