A Visit to the Vitagen Factory

On June 1st, 2023, the Faculty of Business, Hospitality, Accounting, and Finance organized a field trip to the Vitagen drinks factory, named Malaysia Milk Sdn Bhd, located in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. Thirty-eight students from the Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Hospital Management, Diploma in Business Administration, and Diploma in Marketing joined the trip along with two lecturers.

Upon arrival at the site, we were welcomed by Puan Zaihani, the Customer Relations Manager, who briefed us about the history of their products, Vitagen and Marigold. She also played a video showcasing the research and development process that has enabled their products to sustain till today. Students were given the opportunity to ask her questions about the company, and many were amazed by the fascinating facts about Vitagen. After approximately an hour, we began our visit inside the factory, where we observed the bottling, labeling, and packaging processes firsthand.

This was an eye-opening experience for the students as it was their first time witnessing a production site and observing the manufacturing process up close.

After the factory tour, we gathered back at the entrance hall for a group photo session. Each student received a pack of Vitagen products and merchandise as a souvenir, and they also had the chance to taste the Vitagen drink before concluding the tour. This trip provided valuable exposure to the real production process and allowed students to gain firsthand insights into the inner workings of a factory, which was a new and exciting experience compared to simply encountering the product on store shelves.
