An Inbound Student Exchange Programme with Saveetha University, India

As an initiative to add further value to our students’ experience at MAHSA University, Student Mobility programme acts as a platform to project life at MAHSA University. Having exposure to fellow students from neighbouring countries will serve to positively influence students’ values as well as enrich their life experiences.

This year 2022 with the endemic phase setting in Malaysia, Faculty of Dentistry kick started their Inbound Student Mobility Programme. As a part of our collaboration with Saveetha University, four BDS internship students from Saveetha Dental College, Chennai, India had an interesting one-week stint at MAHSA University from 30 May - 3 June 2022.

Dean, Prof Rosnah binti Mohd Zain welcomed them and spoke about the educational system and postgraduate opportunities at MAHSA University and in Malaysia. Associate Prof Dr. Prathap, Deputy Dean, Faculty of Dentistry organized a comprehensive itinerary comprising of academic activities in various specialty areas.

They were exposed to our system of training dental students in the simulation labs as well as the clinics and attended some clinical technique demonstration by lecturers from different departments. They were also able to observe our postgraduate students treating and managing complex cases.


They also had an opportunity to visit few sightseeing places in Kuala Lumpur and try out Malaysian cuisine. All of them really liked the experience and wished they could stay longer.

Shattering Stereotypes: First Malaysian Indigenous Dentist

The Department of Orang Asli Development (JAKOA) recently extended their congratulations to Dr Tan Bee Hui, who became the first indigenous person to earn the title of Dentist. JAKOA's message was shared on their TikTok page (@jakoamalaysia) based on a post made by the Malaysia Orang Asli Students' Association (PMOA) on their Facebook page. The MedPath event took place at MAHSA University, providing an immersive experience for students from Kwang Hua Private High School in Klang. The event was meticulously organized, offering a diverse range of activities tailored to enlighten and guide students on their potential paths towards a career in medicine.
