Creative Writing Workshop

In conjunction with the Teacher’s Day celebration on 16 May 2023, Student Central under the supervision of Ms. Siti Nurul Nadiya, a Be More Lecturer, organized a special event to celebrate and honour our dedicated teachers. As part of the festivities, a creative writing workshop was conducted to encourage students to explore their literary talents and express their appreciation for their teachers through the power of words. The workshop aimed to provide a platform for students to enhance their writing skills while conveying heartfelt messages of gratitude to their teachers.


The creative writing workshop was designed to be an interactive and engaging experience for the participating students. The objectives of the workshop are firstly to cultivate creative writing skills the workshop aimed to provide students with an opportunity to enhance their creative writing abilities by engaging in various writing exercises and activities. Besides, this workshop is also to foster an appreciation for teachers whereby through their writings, students were encouraged to express their gratitude, admiration, and respect for their teachers, recognizing their invaluable contributions to their education and personal growth.


After the students had done their writing activities, students were encouraged to share their compositions aloud, creating an atmosphere of appreciation and celebration. This allowed students to listen to each other’s stories, experiences, and heartfelt messages dedicated to their teachers.


The creative writing workshop proved to be a resounding success, yielding several positive outcomes and leaving a lasting impact on the participants, teachers, and the school community as a whole. The workshop provided students with a platform to sharpen their writing abilities, allowing them to experiment with different literary techniques and express their thoughts and emotions effectively.


Through their writings, students expressed deep appreciation for their teachers, acknowledging the dedication, guidance, and mentorship they have received throughout their academic journey. Also, the workshop served as a catalyst for stronger bonds between teachers and students. It fostered a sense of mutual understanding, respect, and empathy, nurturing a supportive learning environment. It evoked a range of emotions among both students and teachers. The heartfelt messages and stories shared created a sense of belonging, gratitude, and pride within the school community.


Overall, the creative writing workshop held in conjunction with the Teacher’s Day celebration provided a remarkable opportunity for students to unleash their creativity and express their gratitude toward their teachers. It successfully promoted the development of writing skills, fostered stronger teacher-student relationships, and instilled a sense of appreciation within the school community. The event demonstrated the power of words in honoring and celebrating teachers' invaluable contributions to shaping their students' lives.

The Department of Orang Asli Development (JAKOA) recently extended their congratulations to Dr Tan Bee Hui, who became the first indigenous person to earn the title of Dentist.
