Jenjarom, Selangor 15 March 2023 – The growth of the nation through skills training and professional certifications has been a primal focus of the Malaysian Government, and MAHSA has consistently supported the initiatives of upskilling and reskilling the nation through its various initiatives. Adding to its hallmark of success is the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between MAHSA University and IKC.
In a special signing ceremony held today at MAHSA University, the President of IKC, Mr Imran Khan and the Vice Chancellor of MAHSA University, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Ikram Shah, signed an MOU that extends the collaboration towards a developed co-operation. This MOU will promote a mutual understanding towards excellence in practise and skill-based education, research and knowledge exchange between IKC and MAHSA University.
IKC is an international Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) formed in 2017. As an NGO, IKC focuses predominantly on the wellbeing and development of the immigrants within the region. With more than 3 thousand members and growing, IKC serves as a channel for business networking and opportunities, education and skills development, and cultural exchange amongst its members from various nationalities predominantly Pakistan, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand and even Malaysia, and with the vision of expanding its reach for Community Excellence, as its maxim goes.
This collaboration aims to enhance the development of professional and labour skills in the vast areas of healthcare, hospitality, engineering, and more, through the various executive skill-based programmes MAHSA offers. These programmes are aimed at providing employability and entrepreneurial opportunities. In addition to this, MAHSA’s Professional-Industry Driven Education (PRIDE) courses allow individuals to build their computing and technological skills which can equip them in driving their own business, subsequently supporting the economy through IR4.0. Not forgetting the latest and trending Gig Economy Courses, MAHSA Masterclass Certificates, and a suite of thousand over Micro-credential courses for the personal and professional development of adult learners – making this signing of the MOU a significant step towards achieving this objective with IKC.
In his speech, Mr. Imran Khan stated that this MOU is a step forward in providing opportunities to those who desire to embark on skills programmes for the advancement of their careers and livelihood. He added that IKC is driven to support anyone who wishes to raise their standards of living while being members of a large community in Malaysia that is already contributing a great deal to the local economy.
Also present at the MOU were, Dignitaries, Delegates and Guests of IKC, the Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan for Malaysia, Mr. Muhammad Adil, Third Secretary Mr Muhammad Ameer Hassan Butt, Mr . Shahzad Khan, Senior Leader PTI Malaysia, Mr. Aftab, Activist PTI Malaysia, Mr. Malik Farooq, Media Advisor Overseas Pakistani Punjab Government, Mr. Altaf, Managing Director of Star Fabrics, Mr. Riaz, Managing Director of NFS Sdn Bhd, and the members of the Pakistan Press. Present on behalf of MAHSA University were Prof Dr. Alla Kesava Rao, Chief Operating Officer of MAHSA Group of Educational Institutions, Ms Jennifer Fernandez, Marcom Manager of MAHSA University and Liaison of this initiative between MAHSA and IKC, fellow Directors and Deans of the University.
