Researcher Spotlight: Mr. Kasipandian Kasirajan

 


Mr Kasipandian Kasirajan, BE Electrical and Electronics Engineering, ME Power Electronics and Drives, is pursuing his PhD and serves as Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment and (Research) MAHSA University, Malaysia. Mr Kasipandian is an academician with over twenty research publications. He has received two international patents, one of which is “A Robotic system to check battery quality in manufacturing industries using Artificial Intelligence”, Australian Patent number 2021101304, and the other, “Cloud key SAAS autonomous AIOT control system and method thereof”, Australian patent number 2021106451. His main research interests are solar-power plants, wind-power plants and electric vehicles.

Mr Kasipandian’s career began after his BE (Electrical and Electronics Engineering), when he joined the Government College of Engineering Tirunelveli as a graduate trainee, simultaneously pursing his Master of Engineering in Power Electronics and Drives in the same institution. After finishing his studies, he became a lecturer at PET Engineering College in Vallioor, Tirunelveli. After two years he joined the Infant Jesus College of Engineering Tuticorin District as a lecturer. Then he joined Einstein College of Engineering where he developed his career by organising a number of conferences, workshops, faculty development programmes and symposia. He received sponsorships of Rs30,000 from DRDO and Rs.30,000 from CSIR for conducting the conference “RAPCED”. He participated and presented a paper titled “Rotor position estimation of SRM using ANN” and got the Best Paper award in the National Conference on Engineering Applications for Developing Smart Cities (NCEADS) organised by Dhirajlal Gandhi College of Technology, Salem on 30 March 2015.

He also received the Certificate of Merit and Certificate of Appreciation for his excellent results in semester examinations when working at the Einstein College of Engineering. He gave a talk on “Fortification of an Intrumentation control and special Electrical Machines” on 30 March 2012 organised by Dr GU Pope College of Engineering, Thoothukudi. He was also invited as a judge to preside over a national-level technical symposium called Avalanche 2K13 organised by the Government College of Engineering, Tirunelveli on 27 February 2013. He was invited as Chief Guest and jury member of a national-level technical symposium called VERS-13 on 19 March 2013 at St Mother Theresa Engineering College and as a judge presiding over a national-level conference on Innovative Technologies in Engineering (NCITE’15) on 27 February 2015 organised by Dr GU Pope College of Engineering, Thoothukudi.  He has presented a number of webinars related to solar-powered plants and electric-vehicle charging techniques. MAHSA University is constantly encouraging Researchers like Mr Kasipandian Kasirajan in their constant growth.

MAHSA University has planned to implement green-technology concepts at our Bandar Saujana Putra campus. As a token of this implementation, MAHSA is currently working on eco-village projects. In the project, Mr Kasipandian is working on the design of solar-powered plants to generate power for hydroponic and aquaponic projects. In this project he is designing the charge controller, inverter, battery size and solar panel for the defined electrical loads used in eco-village projects.

The Department of Orang Asli Development (JAKOA) recently extended their congratulations to Dr Tan Bee Hui, who became the first indigenous person to earn the title of Dentist.
