Further Education Forum by FSI: Health Sciences at MAHSA University





On 28th May 2022 Further Study Intelligence (FSI) organized a Further Education forum for students of their partner schools.  Leading private universities and practitioners were invited to participate in a panel discussion on Medical and Health Sciences, Actuarial Science and Agriculture as career options for school leavers. The Faculty of Health Sciences (FOHS), MAHSA University was invited to speak on Health Sciences. Representing  FOHS, MAHSA at this forum, was our faculty Dean and Senior Director (Academic) of MAHSA University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Veronica Chua. 

Prof. Veronica provided an overview of Health Science programmes, its enhanced career prospects post Covid-19 pandemic era as well as the pre-requisites to pursue each Health science programme.  Prof Veronica also highlighted some personal traits & preferences that might make Health Sciences an ideal career choice for.  The event which was conducted online, had approximately 60 participants

This participation by FOHS was facilitated and organized by our faculty’s satellite STAR led by Mr. Chew Wai Hong.  We hope to continue to partner with FSI and inform more school leavers regarding Health Science education in MAHSA University as an assured and rewarding career choice.

Shattering Stereotypes: First Malaysian Indigenous Dentist

The Department of Orang Asli Development (JAKOA) recently extended their congratulations to Dr Tan Bee Hui, who became the first indigenous person to earn the title of Dentist. JAKOA's message was shared on their TikTok page (@jakoamalaysia) based on a post made by the Malaysia Orang Asli Students' Association (PMOA) on their Facebook page. PMOA shared this announcement on their social media on September 30th. Tan Bee Hui A/P Tan Boon Huat is MAHSA University Dental Faculty Alumni who successfully completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery earlier this year. She received her early education at SJK (C) Kuala Rompin and SMK Rompin before continuing her studies at Kolej Mara Banting.
