Embracing Cultural Diversity: A Transformative Field Trip to Ilham Gallery Exhibition Centre

Embarking on a cultural field trip is an exceptional opportunity to broaden horizons, foster a deeper understanding of diverse cultures, and celebrate the vibrant motifs and elements of human heritage. On 26th May 2023, a group of 7 Diploma in Engineering students, along with 2 Be More Lecturers led by Ms. Siti Nurul Nadiya, ventured to the Ilham Gallery Exhibition Centre, where the captivating exhibition "Lift The Tikar!" awaited them. The exhibition showcased works by Yee I-Lann in collaboration with Dusun and Murut weavers from Keningau in inland Sabah and Bajau Sama DiLaut weavers on Pulau Omadal in Semporna, on the border of the Sulu and Celebes seas, as well as dancers and film-makers based in Kota Kinabalu. This unique collaboration weaved together diverse visual languages, art histories, stories, philosophies, economies, and geographies, creating a profound tapestry of shared experiences. FOEHS HOSTS STUDENTS FROM CHIANG MAI UNIVERSITY and UNIVERSITAS INDONESIA FOR INBOUND MOBILITY PROGRAMME.

FOEHS is delighted to host students from Chiang Mai University for an mobility programme for Medical Imaging and students from Universitas Indonesia for a mobility programme for Environmental and Occupational Safety and Health. Both programmes commenced today (25/05) with the opening ceremony   attended by the Dean of Faculty of Public Health, Prof Dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, Vice Dean Dr. Ir. Asih Setiarini and Manager of Venture and Collaboration, Dr. Indri Hapsari Susilowati. Attending on behalf of the faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Chiang Mai University was Dr. Uten Yarach MAHSA University is honoured to be chosen as a partner university for the exposure and training of the students from these reputable public universities for Environmental Health and Medical Imaging. We warmly welcome the visiting students and wish them an enriching and memorable stay at MAHSA University.

Academic Visit from Fakultas Kesehatan Masyarakat, Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI)

Faculty of Health Sciences MAHSA University welcomed a visiting delegation from Fakultas Kesehatan Masyarakat, Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI), headed by the faculty Dean Dr Misniarti SKM, MKM., on 18th May 2023.  The purpose of this visit was to discuss future academic and research collaborations as well as to build on the special relationship between MAHSA and UNSRI; whereby MAHSA University became the first private Malaysian university to establish an academic collaboration with an Indonesian public university in the field of Environmental Health when MAHSA signed an MOA with UNSRI for this in 2019. We thank the delegation for their visit and look forward to forging closer ties between MAHSA University and UNSRI for Environmental Health education and research.

Network and Orientation Week – Business and Engineering Programme May 2023 Intake

On 16 May 2023 until 19 May 2023, Student Central organized a Network and Orientation Week for the Business and Engineering new intake students. A total number of 19 students joined this programme. This Network and Orientation Week was aimed to familiarize the new students with the university campus, academic resources, support services, and promote a sense of belonging within the university community. Various venues within the university premises were designated for different activities, including classrooms, the auditorium, the library, and outdoor spaces. The FAST, Student Central and logistics team ensured that necessary arrangements, such as seating, audio-visual equipment, and refreshments, were in place. The orientation began with a warm welcome address by the Head of Student Central, followed by introductions from the Elite Team, student representatives, and key administrative staff. In conjunction with the Teacher’s Day celebration on 16 May 2023, Student Central under the supervision of Ms. Siti Nurul Nadiya, a Be More Lecturer, organized a special event to celebrate and honour our dedicated teachers. As part of the festivities, a creative writing workshop was conducted to encourage students to explore their literary talents and express their appreciation for their teachers through the power of words. The workshop aimed to provide a platform for students to enhance their writing skills while conveying heartfelt messages of gratitude to their teachers. One Ball, One World

Last week MAHSA had the privilege of having The Ball present at its campus through Spirit of Football for a two-day workshop with 20 of its students. The Ball has been kicked by Spirit of Football to 5 FIFA World Cups, visited 50+ countries and inspired more than 50,000 people. Their goal is to tackle the most pertinent challenges facing societies and the planet using the unifying power of football in education and advocacy. For the first time, The Ball is travelling to the FIFA Women’s World Cup and it stopped at MAHSA University before it made its way to Indones, then to New Zealand and finally to Australia for the Women's World Cup. On the 6th of May 2023, students from MAHSA's Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment, and IT embarked on a captivating journey of freehand sketching at Stadthuys, the iconic red square in Malacca. As part of the First Year Architectural Technology program, this hands-on activity allowed students to explore their creativity, enhance their sketching skills, and develop a keen perception of form and space.
