At this event one of our students from the Faculty of Health Sciences (FOHS) Mohd Fahzan bin Azmi won the Vice Chancellor’s Prize for his exceptional achievement in his studies. MOhd Fazhan completed the Bachelor of Environmental Health and Safety (Hons) Programme during which he made it into the Dean’s List for every semester and obtained a final Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.78.

He is Mohd Fahzan bin Azmi, who is a working adult, a husband and a father went through many ups and downs to complete his studies as he entered the program in April 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. As he was working as an Assistant Environmental Health Officer in a district health office, he was actively involved in communicable disease prevention and control including the fight against COVID-19. His work took up a lot of his time and energy but through hard work and discipline he found time for his studies and manage his family. When ask to comment about his achievement the humble and soft-spoken Mohd Fahzan said:

“ I managed to achieve good output and results because I was blessed to have good input and guidance from MAHSA University in terms of quality teaching from experienced and knowledgeable lecturers who help students throughout the learning process”.

Mohd Fahzan is known among his lecturers to be a polite, soft-spoken, responsible and a hardworking student. He has always shown an eagerness to learn more about the topics that were taught during class. He is also an independent person when it comes to studies, where he often searches for more knowledge outside of the classroom.

This characteristic is also seen in most of our other working adults who are furthering their study in the Bachelor of Environmental Health and Safety (Hons) programme at FOHS. Despite struggling to balance their time for work, study and family yet they all manage to complete their study with very good results. We congratulate them as well for their achievement.
