How to Stay Industry-Relevant in the Next Decade and Beyond

Long gone are the days of simplicity.  Simple complacent minds and simple analog machines simply cannot compete in today’s extraordinarily challenging circumstances and unavoidably digital mode.  The global pandemic has made this very obvious, although even without it, we would still have had to contend with the necessity of constantly educating and upgrading ourselves nonetheless.

As these past two especially difficult years have taught us, nobody should ever take their jobs for granted.  In order to stay industry-relevant and thus be potential assets desired by either employers or clients, employees and business owners everywhere have to take a long, hard look at their skill sets.

The catch-phrases are ‘constant change’ and ‘continuous competition’, and in this context, constant change means constantly new technologies and constantly new market practices which make the old obsolete, while continuous competition means anyone in the same field or position who has more to offer that threatens one’s very survival.

Also, it is important to note that new technologies are being created all the time that are replacing human workers and taking them out of the product-to-customer equation altogether.  This simply means that anybody who is interested in keeping their position either as an employee or as a business owner has a personal duty to constantly upgrade.  This upgrading means education and re-education – learning and re-learning.  It does not matter whatever profession or industry anyone is in, because this education and re-education is undoubtedly necessary in every arena.

This is the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the IR 4.0, which has completely changed the landscape of the modern world as we previously knew it.  Nobody can escape, and no one is exempt, unless they are prepared to be left behind.  Everywhere we look we see ubiquitous digitalisation – automation, data analytics, machine learning, augmented reality and virtual reality.  Everything is digital now, from simple day-to-day living to sophisticated business models that dictate how organisations exist and how employees perform.

That is certainly a lot to take in for everyone, let alone those with no digital knowledge whatsoever.  In order to stay industry-relevant, everyone has to constantly upskill and upgrade by learning and re-learning.  It sounds difficult, but help is here.

MAHSA University offers endless possibilities for everyone to invest in professional qualifications in order to stay industry-relevant for brighter business prospects. We have all the educational solutions to anyone’s upgrading and upskilling problems.
