Faculty of Health Sciences Best Teacher Awards 2021

The Faculty of Health Sciences (FOHS) organised its “FOHS Best Teacher Awards 2021” to seek out the best of the best among its lecturers for the academic year 2020/21 as chosen by their students.  These awards aimed to recognise and celebrate outstanding FOHS lecturers who have demonstrated dedication and excellence in educating the students of FOHS. The online voting for these awards was opened to all FOHS students. There were 3 individual categories, which were the Best Online Teacher, Best Theory Teacher, Best Practical Teacher, and a Best Overall Teacher for the highest cumulative score in all 3 categories.

It was a tight race between all the lecturers, but the eventual winners were:

1) Best Online Teacher: Mr. Nelson Arputharaj John

2) Best Theory Teacher: Mr. Ravi Kumar Murugesan

3) Best Practical Teacher: Mr. Ramakrishnan G. Venkatachalam

The Best Overall Teacher's Award, was won by  Mr. Nelson Arputharaj John.

The individual category winners were presented with certificates by the Dean of FOHS, Assoc. Prof Dr. Veronica Chua, while Mr. Nelson also received a winner’s trophy for winning the Best Overall Teacher's Award 2020/21.. The prize giving ceremony took place on 8th September 2021 at the Deanery

Congratulations to all the “Best Teachers of FOHS” for 2020/21.

Shattering Stereotypes: First Malaysian Indigenous Dentist

The Department of Orang Asli Development (JAKOA) recently extended their congratulations to Dr Tan Bee Hui, who became the first indigenous person to earn the title of Dentist.
