Guest Lecture: Air Pollution Exposure and Health Impacts

MAHSA University Dean of Faculty of Health Sciences, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Veronica Chua was invited to give an international guest lecture on Environmental Health at Sriwijaya University (UNSRI), Palembang Indonesia on 11th September 2023. The title of Prof Veronica’s lecture was “Air Pollution Exposure and Health Impacts”. During the lecture which was attended by 91 students from the Bachelors in Environmental Health program at UNSRI, Prof Veronica discussed the different sources and types of air pollution, the major air pollutants and their respective health impacts both short term as well as long term. MAHSA University Signs 22 MOUs with Institutions in Java Timor

Twenty-two institutions in East Java signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with MAHSA University during the Aiptinakes International Conference of Health (26/8 & 27/8) held at Malang, Java Timor. Youth Future Leader Conference 2023: Impactful Creative Solutions

The success of the "Youth Future Leader Conference Batch 2" and the effectiveness of its creative solutions were undoubtedly intertwined with the delegates' enthusiastic participation. Enhancing Student Leadership: SRC Exco Camp

The Student Representative Council (SRC) of MAHSA University organized an Executive Committee (EXCO) Camp from 28th July 2023 to 29th July 2023 at MAHSA University. The purpose of the camp was to provide an opportunity for the newly elected SRC EXCO members to come together, bond as a team, enhance leadership skills and strategize for the upcoming academic year. The objectives of this camp were: Facilitate team-building and collaboration among EXCO members. Enhance leadership and communication skills. Develop a shared vision and action plan for the SRC’s initiatives. Foster a sense of responsibility and commitment to the student body. Karnival Jom Heboh BABA’S Pulau Pinang

Chef Qayyum Irwanzi from the Centre of Hospitality Management at MAHSA University was invited to serve as a chef ambassador for cooking demonstrations by BABAs during the Carnival "Jom Heboh". Each day, Chef Qayyum Irwanzi conducted four live cooking sessions, reaching nearly 360,000 visitors who attended the event in Stadium Pulau Pinang. On the final day of the event, the Chief Minister of Pulau Pinang joined the cooking demonstration. The event garnered extensive publicity through newspapers, television coverage, radio broadcasts, and various social media platforms.

Cook With Pride with Chef Qayyum

Chef Qayyum Irwanzi, hailing from the Centre of Hospitality Management, received an invitation to serve as a guest speaker, sharing his nearly decade-long expertise in the food and beverages industry. His insightful session was specifically tailored for breast cancer survivors, focusing on the importance of healthy eating. The event featured not only Chef Qayyum's enlightening presentation but also engaging hands-on cooking activities where participants had the opportunity to prepare several nutritious dishes. Furthermore, all attendees enthusiastically took part in a cooking demonstration session. Dato Azrene Abdullah, the Chairman of the Breast Cancer Foundation, graced the occasion with her presence, adding prestige to the event. A total of 40 resilient breast cancer survivors actively participated, making this gathering an informative and inspiring experience for them.
