Celebrating Justin Ng Yi Xuan: A Trailblazer in Dental Surgery

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Justin Ng Yi Xuan, the first recipient of the prestigious IDCMR full scholarship. Recently, Justin had the amazing opportunity to participate in the Professional Student Experience at Mahidol University, Thailand.

Reflecting on his experience, Justin shared, “It is a great honour to be trained in advanced general dental surgery at the top university dental hospital and a bliss to form meaningful relationships with talented individuals from six other countries. I am deeply grateful to the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Department for allowing me, the only undergraduate, to partake in multiple major surgeries. The hospitality and training experience here is second to none, and it will always hold a special place in my heart.”

This remarkable achievement was made possible through the collaboration between Mahidol University and MAHSA University, providing Justin with an unparalleled learning experience.

What is the IDCMR Scholarship?

The International Dental Collaboration of the Mekong River Region (IDCMR) scholarship is a highly esteemed award aimed at fostering dental education and research among countries in the Mekong River region. Established to enhance oral health resource capacity, the IDCMR brings together dental education institutes from Cambodia, China, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The scholarship offers students and faculty members opportunities for exchange programs, advanced training, and collaborative research. Recipients of the IDCMR scholarship are recognised for their academic excellence and commitment to advancing dental practices. This scholarship is particularly prestigious for dental students as it provides access to top-tier training and the chance to engage in significant dental surgeries and research projects.

Justin's participation in this program not only highlights his dedication and skill but also underscores the exceptional opportunities provided by the IDCMR scholarship. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mahidol University and MAHSA University for making this prestigious opportunity possible!
