Malaysians are currently experiencing the impact of climate change as the ambient temperature rises, frequency and intensity of heat waves increases, rainfall gets heavier with increased frequency and intensity of storm surge events. Agriculture and Fisheries industries have been severely impacted causing a rise in food prices and threatening food security. Fruit seasons are off, and even though durian season is always appreciated, the other impacts are not as desirable.
We must make changes now, or our children will no longer be able to enjoy the beauty and prosperity that the environment has brought Malaysia through the generations.
Climate change is the greatest threat facing the world's children and young people and the resulting climate crisis is considered a child rights crisis. According to the Children's Climate Change Risk Index report published by UNICEF in 2021, From floods and vector-borne diseases to deteriorating air quality and improper disposal of hazardous wastes, children of today will bear the brunt of the impacts, with consequences seen in terms of health and well-being, education, and future income.

UNICEF has produced a report based on the ranks, encouraging the younger generation of Malaysians to actively take charge and protect the environment from climate change, which will secure their future as well.
So, what do we need to do together to make a change?
We as the community, need to increase awareness and education and explore innovation and youth participation in climate change action.
