Let's Hear that ROAR!

 



In conjunction with the Chinese New Year of the Tiger 🐯 2022, the students from MAHSA University’s Faculty of Health Sciences (FOHS) organised and took part in the Chinese New Year celebrations held on 10th February. Many exciting events happened during this celebration. The students of FOHS showcased their diverse talents with their amazing performances on stage.

Koh Zeng Feng from Environmental Health played the drums and mesmerised the audience, while Gan Khai Ping from the School of Physiotherapy left the audience in awe with his guitar. Besides these musical performances, Physiotherapy students Tan Ai Ching and Kimberly created enchanting vibes in the hall by giving a very graceful dance performance.

In the build-up to the celebration, many exciting competitions were conducted throughout the week, such as karaoke, Chinese calligraphy, and Tik-Tok. Charis Tee Ming Jing, a Bachelor of Physiotherapy student, emerged champion of the calligraphy competition, whereas Hariz Arafa Said won the second runner-up prize for the karaoke competition with his mind-blowing, stage rocking performance. Jason Valanthevan an impressive performance.when he sang a song in the spirit of the Chinese New Year.

It was exciting to have held this event in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic which has kept all of us apart for two years.  This event also kick-started student activities on campus, albeit being very carefully and observing tight SOP’s

To culminate the CNY celebrations, the Faculty of Health Sciences, together with the Faculty of Pharmacy, organised a yee-sang-tossing ceremony for the whole university. The event was led by our Dean, Professor Veronica, and was attended by all members of the senior management of MAHSA University. Yee-sang-tossing is believed to welcome prosperity and abundance for the lunar new year.

Shattering Stereotypes: First Malaysian Indigenous Dentist

The Department of Orang Asli Development (JAKOA) recently extended their congratulations to Dr Tan Bee Hui, who became the first indigenous person to earn the title of Dentist. JAKOA's message was shared on their TikTok page (@jakoamalaysia) based on a post made by the Malaysia Orang Asli Students' Association (PMOA) on their Facebook page. The MedPath event took place at MAHSA University, providing an immersive experience for students from Kwang Hua Private High School in Klang. The event was meticulously organized, offering a diverse range of activities tailored to enlighten and guide students on their potential paths towards a career in medicine.
