Open Day at Masjid Tun Abdul Aziz

Health Promotion is “the process of enabling people to increase control over and improve health”. Oral Health promotion is not directed at any particular disease but intended to strengthen the host through a variety of approaches such as health education, environmental modifications, nutritional interventions, lifestyle and behavioral changes fundamental to general health and wellbeing. Dental caries is still a health problem worldwide, its prevalence and incidence are associated with various factors like age, sex, social status, dietary patterns and oral hygiene habits. The world’s population is currently ageing with the number and proportion of elderly people growing substantially. Between the years of 2000-2005 to 2010-2015 life expectancy at birth rose from 67.2 to 70.8 years. By 2045-2050 it is projected to continue increase to 77 years. This increasing longevity can be majorly attributed to advances in modern medicine and medical technology. As a result, the population of peop

The 33rd Annual Scientific Meeting of the South East Asia Association for Dental Education (SEAADE) was held at Sokhalay Angkor Villa Resort, Siem Reap, Cambodia between 24th to 26th November 2022. The dental committee from the University of Puthisastra had worked enthusiastically on this anticipated program with the theme “Getting Dental Education Back on Track”. With this, I seized the golden opportunity to proudly showcase the on-going, university social responsibility (USR) project organised by the Department of Dental Public Health, together

Early Childhood Education Industry Expectations

Early childhood education is critical as a preparation for children to enrol in primary school. This is to develop a balanced and holistic human capital that includes physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual and social aspects. The business potential in the early childhood industry has recently grown rapidly. This has attracted more young entrepreneurs including graduates. In general, businesses in early childhood education centres are still open for local entrepreneurs to explore, as it is a requirement for parents to ensure their children's readiness before starting school. As a result, young entrepreneurs interested in venturing into this field must not only have expertise and skills in childcare centre management but they must also understand the needs and desires of children as they age. Today's issue in this field is that the early childhood educators' credentials are the real problem. Early childhood educators need to have academic credentials in this sector in

UNDERSTANDING GEN Z LANGUAGE

Everything evolves as we venture into the 21st century in this vast and modern world. For decades, if not longer, the generational divide has been a contentious topic. Generation Z or also known as Gen Z is currently the generation that is continuously in the spotlight due to a social fixation with youth. Although Generation Z has some characteristics in common with its forebears, it also has its own specific demands and goals, particularly in terms of communication. This is due to the significant influence where their way of communication or language is set by technology, age, and linguistics and choices of vocabulary. According to Pew Research Center (2019), Gen Z is defined as anyone born between 1997 and 2012. The question is, do people speak differently depending on their age? The answer is Yes. Albeit it may not seem entirely logical, research conducted based on age cohorts demonstrates that people do converse differently depending on their age. As for Gen Z, their languag

Burnout can be defined as the inability to cope with the emotional stress at the workplace.
