Volunteer at the Malaysia Animal Society, KL

On 29th February 2024, Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) students under community work course dedicated their time to volunteer at the Malaysia Animal Society in KL. This experience not only taught them essential skills like cleaning and animal care but also instilled a sense of responsibility towards animals.

Volunteering provides opportunities for students to develop and enhance a wide range of skills such as communication, teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, and time management. These skills are valuable both in academic settings and in future careers. Volunteering fosters a sense of civic responsibility and encourages students to actively engage with their communities. It helps them develop empathy, compassion, and a greater awareness of social issues, leading to a commitment to making positive contributions to society.

The Department of Orang Asli Development (JAKOA) recently extended their congratulations to Dr Tan Bee Hui, who became the first indigenous person to earn the title of Dentist.
