Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with Board of Engineering Malaysia (BEM) and MOTEC Sdn Bhd.

The Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment, and IT, MAHSA University in collaboration with the Research, Innovation, and Enterprise (RIE) committee, hosted Partnership Night as part of the closing ceremony for the MAHSA International Technology and Engineering Conference (Mi-TEC 2024).

The aim of this gathering was to strengthen relationships between universities, professional bodies, industries, and MAHSA University. This event provided a valuable opportunity to explore joint initiatives and reinforce the existing connections between our institution and external partners.

During the event, we were privileged to formalize Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Board of Engineering Malaysia (BEM) and MOTEC Sdn Bhd. The MoU with BEM aligns with the Malaysian government's vision to advance the country and its policy of having one engineer per one hundred citizens (1:100). In pursuit of this vision, BEM and MAHSA are collaborating to facilitate the registration of new graduates as Graduate Engineers and Engineering Technologists with BEM. Additionally, BEM has committed an annual sponsorship of RM 10,000 for the best engineering student award.

Our partnership with MOTEC will concentrate on joint research and development in technology, including 3D printing, artificial intelligence (AI), and Internet of Things (IoT) applications. This collaboration aims to innovate new technologies, particularly in defense machinery and manufacturing equipment, leveraging MOTEC's expertise in production. The Partnership Night welcomed esteemed delegates from BEM, including Dato’ Ir. Dr. Ahmad Anuar Bin Othman, Ir. Hamzah bin Hashim, Dato' Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Othman Bin A. Karim, Ir. Dr. Nor Azhar Bin Mohd Arif, and En Shaiful. Representatives from MOTEC Sdn Bhd, such as CEO Anson Lim Directors Capt Siva and Dr. Gobaind, Sr. Isaacc, Chairman of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE), Ir. Dr. Ong and Ts. Dr. Karim Nouri from Advanced Geomechanics Sdn Bhd

Mr. Hao Gaing Tay, Board of Directors at the Institution of Fire Engineers Malaysia, Ar Sarly Adre Sarkum from the Board of Architects Malaysia and the Green Building Index (GBI) representative, Ar. Abu Zarim Abu Bakar, President of the Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM), Ar Zamri Ismail, Director of ZKI Architect Sdn Bhd, Prof. Dr. R. Gopalakrishnan, and Prof. Dr. A. Kumaravel from K.S Rangasamy College of Technology, were also in attendance.

The Department of Orang Asli Development (JAKOA) recently extended their congratulations to Dr Tan Bee Hui, who became the first indigenous person to earn the title of Dentist. The event was meticulously organized, offering a diverse range of activities tailored to enlighten and guide students on their potential paths towards a career in medicine. The event commenced with an engaging presentation, focusing on the MBBS pathway at MAHSA, outlining the academic journey necessary for aspiring medical professionals.
