MAHSA INTERNATIONAL TECHNOLOGY AND ENGINEERING CONFERENCE 2021 (MiTEC)


MAHSA University held an its first international conference on engineering and technology on Friday 9th of July 2021. It was the first in a series of conferences this year amid the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions. This significant milestone for the university has been successfully set by the efforts of the Faculty of Engineering & Built Environment and MAHSA Academic Solutions (MACS), with the support of Dato’ Dr. Ikram Shah, Prof. Alla Kesava Rao and Prof. Dr Srikumar.

Held online, the conference was addressed among others by Prof Dr. Rao Bhamidimarri from the United Kingdom as the special guest, Prof. Dr. Saad Mekhilef from University Malaya, and Mr. Sunil David the Regional Director (IoT) for AT&T India. Prof Rao in his keynote address emphasised adapting learning technologies to the fourth and fifth industrial revolutions, and Prof Saad highlighted the recent developments in renewable energy, while Mr. Sunil briefed on the IoT ecosystem in modern industries.

A total of eighteen papers were presented in multiple parallel sessions highlighting the recent developments and research outcomes in electrical and mechanical engineering. The topics covered corporate digitalisation, humanoid robots, solar charge controller, RFID, gesture-controlled wheelchair, electronic stethoscope, dual circle corner detection, mobile cloud computing in healthcare, electromagnetic transmitter, quarter car model, and automation in housing development, which will provide innovative ideas to the relevant industries.

MiTEC2021 has proved MAHSA University’s commitment to research and innovation for a better and greener world. The university invites academicians and industry practitioners to join in its upcoming similar conferences and other research enterprises.

Shattering Stereotypes: First Malaysian Indigenous Dentist

The Department of Orang Asli Development (JAKOA) recently extended their congratulations to Dr Tan Bee Hui, who became the first indigenous person to earn the title of Dentist.
