MAHSA Association of Physiotherapy Students (MAPS) New Committee Members for 2024–25.

We are extremely happy and proud to introduce MAHSA Association of Physiotherapy Students (MAPS) new committee members for 2024–25.


On January 26th 2024, the new MAPS committee was installed in a ceremony at MAHSA University's SPC campus. The ceremony was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Nursing and Education, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Veronica Chua, together with the Head of School of Physiotherapy Mr. Suvinlal Stalin, MAPS advisors Mr. Nelson Arputharaj John and Ms, Nisha Vijayan Acharry as well as our dear physiotherapy lecturers and coursemates.

The event was meant to welcome the energetic new team while bidding a fond farewell to the incredible outgoing committee. The new committee was introduced on stage as follows:

The membership registry was then handed over by the previous president to the new president, for her to continue with the work. The new president, Wong Zi Yin, took the stage to deliver her speech which highlighted the vision for the future and the events planned. The ceremony concluded with a closing address from our Dean Prof. Veronica who highlighted the importance of MAPS in the holistic development of MAHSA Physiotherapy students and shared her aspirations for MAPS going forward.

Sincere thanks to all our FOSHNE lecturers, fellow students/ members of MAPS for taking the time to attend this jubilant occasion.

Shattering Stereotypes: First Malaysian Indigenous Dentist

The Department of Orang Asli Development (JAKOA) recently extended their congratulations to Dr Tan Bee Hui, who became the first indigenous person to earn the title of Dentist. JAKOA's message was shared on their TikTok page (@jakoamalaysia) based on a post made by the Malaysia Orang Asli Students' Association (PMOA) on their Facebook page. Tan Bee Hui A/P Tan Boon Huat is MAHSA University Dental Faculty Alumni who successfully completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery earlier this year. The MedPath event took place at MAHSA University, providing an immersive experience for students from Kwang Hua Private High School in Klang. The event was meticulously organized, offering a diverse range of activities tailored to enlighten and guide students on their potential paths towards a career in medicine. The event commenced with an engaging presentation, focusing on the MBBS pathway at MAHSA, outlining the academic journey necessary for aspiring medical professionals. A detailed discussion provided insights into scholarships and financing options specifically designed for the MBBS program, aiming to inform students about the available financial support avenues for their medical education. Following that, a captivating live demonstration showcased EEG tracing, offering practical insights into neurology and the application of medical technology in diagnosing neurological conditions.
