On 18 April 2023, Student Central had nominations for Student Representative Council (SRC) for the term of 2023/24. The election was a highly anticipated event that saw students from different classes and faculties vote for their chosen presidential candidate. The election was conducted in a free, fair, and transparent manner, with all candidates given an equal chance to present their manifestos and ideas.
During the campaign period, candidates engaged in a wide range of activities, including speeches from class to class and designing their manifestos to win the support of their fellow students. It was heartening to see the level of enthusiasm and commitment shown by the candidates as they presented their ideas and plans for improving the student experience at the campus.
On the day of the election, there was a high turnout of students who came out to cast their votes through online and physical platforms. The atmosphere was charged with excitement and anticipation, as students eagerly waited to see who would emerge as the winner. The electoral commission from Student Central worked tirelessly to ensure that the voting process was smooth and efficient, and the counting of votes was done in a transparent and impartial manner.
At the end of the election, we were pleased to announce that Muhammad Adbul Suad, Semester 2 Year 1 from the MBBS programme emerged as the winner. He won having garnered 49.9% votes, meanwhile another presidential nominee, Mason Chung Yu An gained 44.3% votes. He ran a campaign that focused on issues such as improving academic performance, enhancing student welfare, and promoting a sense of community among students. We believe that his ideas and plans will go a long way in improving the student experience at MAHSA University.
We would like to congratulate Muhammad Adbul Suad on his victory and wish him all the best as he takes on the role of SRC representative.
